The Best Care When it Matters Most

Southeast Georgia’s premier, non-profit hospice provider since 1980.

1692 Glynco Parkway

Brunswick, GA 31525

Many patients around Charlton County, GA, opt to receive hospice care or palliative care from their homes, but we also have two dedicated hospice houses—the first opened in the entire state.

Regardless of where you choose to receive care, effective palliative care can ease symptoms such as:

  • Pain
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Lack of appetite
  • Shortness of breath
  • Constipation

Palliative and hospice care may help you if you have been diagnosed with dementia, cancer, ALS, or late-stage lung, liver, heart, or kidney diseases, suffered a stroke, or have other neurological damage.

As the only non-profit hospice agency in the area, we strive to provide comprehensive service regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Our team offers award-winning care that focuses on your comfort, not our profit margin.

We are grateful to the families and individuals who have placed their care and trust in our hands. We welcome you to read their reviews to learn about our service and philosophy toward hospice care here at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Care Wherever You Call Home

We can provide hospice care in your home, assisted living facility, a hospital, or wherever else you may be living. Our team of physicians, nurses, social workers, aides, chaplains, and therapists assist with medication and medical devices, liaise with doctors’ offices, and offer counseling.

Our professionals can also educate family members in palliative care so that they feel more comfortable and confident serving as day-to-day caregivers. For times when pain and other symptoms are especially severe, our nurses are available to provide in-home, short-term crisis care.

Many people assume that hospice care is for those with a terminal diagnosis. However, even if you’re still in treatment, you may benefit from palliative care to manage symptoms like pain, regardless of whether you qualify for hospice or not.

Our Hospice House

Sometimes it’s more comfortable to receive care at the Robinson Center or the Jolley House, our in-patient facilities. You’ll have access to private rooms and bathrooms. We also offer cable TV, wireless internet, scenic views, social dining and gathering spaces, and a private whirlpool spa.

During your time with us, you will be in the care of our medical staff 24 hours a day. Our staff will take the time to understand what you’re looking for in hospice care and help tailor your care plan to your unique needs.

We often find that patients’ families regret waiting too long to establish hospice service. If you or a family member may benefit from hospice or palliative care, whether in our facility or at home, please contact our team at Hospice of the Golden Isles to discuss your concerns. We’re always happy to help.

Counseling

We work with secular and religious counselors to provide emotional and spiritual support for patients, their loved ones, and the community at large, and our CEO is a licensed clinical social worker.

Hospice staff can provide therapy and help connect you to outside resources that may be appropriate. Our team works with non-denominational chaplains to provide religious counseling. If you already have relationships with clergy members, you’re welcome to include them in your care plan if you like.

Our hospice house provides spaces for families to eat and gather together, but we know some of your most beloved family members have four legs. That’s why we provide pet therapy and allow pet visitation at the hospice facility.

We also recognize that veterans may appreciate specific types of support. Hospice of the Golden Isles partners with the group We Honor Veterans to provide a compassionate space where those who served may speak freely and discuss their unique challenges together.

Our hospice house features a memory brick walk and hosts an appreciation lunch each Veterans Day. We also host a memorial service each December for any family in our community grieving a loss.

We realize that illness affects whole families, not just individuals. Our team hosts several grief support groups open to anyone in our community, whether they are related to a patient of ours or not. Our bereavement coordinator can also schedule personal appointments and direct you to resources for adults and young people in mourning.
