What a great night for Hospice of the Golden Isles (HGI)! In front of a sold out crowd, patrons enjoyed the sounds of the Randall Bramblett Band, Strawberry Flats with John Keane, and the Pine Box Dwellers while tasting great food from area chefs and drinking lively libations from local and regional distributors. This was the first year that the St. Simons Food and Spirits Festival hosted a one day event in the spring. Back to back hurricanes, helped influence the decision to try a new time and feel for the event that’s been going on for the past eight years in various forms. Special thanks to our festival board members and event organizer Beth Williams for the countless hours of planning that went into making this event such a success, and to our HGI volunteers who helped with jobs ranging from emptying trash bags to manning our silent auction. We also so very appreciative of the local chefs and business owners who consistently step up to support our non-profit by donating their time, staff, and talents toward making this event such a great fundraiser for HGI.

Hospice of the Golden Isles receives early Christmas gift to benefit patients and their families who need access to quality end-of- life care.
Thanks to the generosity of the family and friends of the late Dr. William O. Inman, Jr., his wife Mary “Bebee” Inman and Beth (Inman) Jordan an Endowment Fund is being created in their memory to support families served by Hospice. “Gifts will be made in honor of all past, present, and future healthcare professionals in southeast Georgia by supporting the non-profit mission of Hospice of the Golden Isles to provide services regardless of ability to pay,” said William O. Inman, III, of Jacksonville, the son of Dr. Inman and the initial supporter of the Fund.
“We are so grateful for this generous gift to Hospice of the Golden Isles. Each year, we provide almost $800,000 of uncompensated care for seriously ill patients, which amounts to over 10 % of our operating budget. The income from this endowment will directly help cover those expenses, ensuring our ability to provide expert, compassionate care for patients and their families in our southeast Georgia community,” says Karen Brubaker, CEO of Hospice of the Golden Isles.
If you wish to contribute to this endowment, all checks should be made payable to “The Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation” writing Hospice of the Golden Isles Endowment” in the memo.
