Hospice of the Golden Isles is the area’s only non-profit hospice agency. We focus on providing the best treatment possible, not the most cost-effective strategy to satisfy our investors. That means we accept patients regardless of their ability to pay.
Our team includes physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, aides, and therapists. We also recognize that late-stage illness affects whole families and provide services to caregivers and loved ones in mourning.
You may qualify for hospice care if you have been given a terminal diagnosis. However, even if you’re not ready for hospice, you may benefit from palliative care, which can help increase your quality of life by addressing symptoms such as:
Palliative care and hospice care may offer comfort to patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, dementia, ALS, or late-stage heart, lung, liver, or kidney diseases, as well as those who have suffered a stroke or other neurological damage.
Please contact us if you or someone you love may benefit from our services. Families often regret waiting too long to establish professional care. Our staff at Hospice of the Golden Isles can discuss your concerns and help you determine an appropriate level of service, whether that includes palliative care, in-home hospice care, or a stay in our dedicated hospice house.
Palliative treatment provides relief to anyone struggling with pain and other symptoms of illness. Professionals can incorporate palliative care into the curative treatment for patients of any age and any stage of illness or recovery.
We understand that not all pain is physical. Many patients benefit from stress relief treatment, social support, or other care. We’ll work with you and your physicians to tailor a strategy that meets your specific needs.
Many patients are able to receive hospice care from the comfort of their own home, whether that is a house, condo, assisted living facility, or nursing home. Our staff is also able to visit patients in the hospital.
We want to make your home comfortable and easy to navigate. Our professionals can assist with medicine and medical devices such as beds. We can also coordinate with your doctors’ offices or arrange for counseling. Our staff can help design a treatment plan to address your unique circumstances.
In addition to physical care, at Hospice of the Golden Isles, we work with secular and religious counselors to provide emotional and spiritual support. Patients who already have relationships with clergy members are invited to include them in their care. We also partner with We Honor Veterans to provide counseling specifically for former members of the armed forces.
In the event of an emergency, nurses are available to provide in-home, short-term crisis care. Additionally, we offer caregiver relief, a program that allows our hospice patients to stay in our hospice house or another contracted nursing facility for up to five days. This respite enables caregivers to recharge and catch up on other obligations.
We have opened the first dedicated hospice facility in the state of Georgia. Today, patients may stay at the Robinson Center or the Jolley House under 24-hour nursing care. Our amenities include:
The hospice house can provide many common personal care items, but patients may bring their own. Additionally, pets are allowed to visit, and we even offer pet therapy, in addition to the other religious and secular counseling provided through Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Our hospice facility also features a memory brick walk to honor our veterans, one of several services we provide specifically for those who have served our country.
We know illness affects whole families and communities. We host various events and support groups throughout the year for people who are grieving a loss. We can also arrange a private counseling session or provide literature for adults and young people in mourning and educate caregivers, so they feel more comfortable and confident assisting a loved one when our professional staff is not around.
Whether you’re a patient or a loved one—you’re not alone. Get in touch with our team at (912) 265-4735. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about Hospice of the Golden Isles or palliative and hospice care in Brantley County, GA.
